| Children from Belmont Primary School in Swadlincote are amongst the first to have completed their LITTLE LANDshapes Oral History Project in partnership with the National Forest Company.
There were so many children eager to take part so two classes were combined for the three sessions which were held in Mrs. Penney’s classroom.
The children were able to learn about the history of Swadlincote from a total of eight guests who were able to answer their questions about the area in days gone by. The children were also keen to hear about life at the school and what school dinners were like when their guest speakers were young.
Their CD is now being edited and will be available before they break up for Christmas.
Over fifty children have done some lovely drawings and some of these are available to see at the links below.
