Desford & District Local History Society Group Profile
| The society was formed in 1982 and we have a constitution. Our main interests are in Desford as a former coal mining area and in framework knitting. We have a collection, from the parish archive, of old photographs, maps and documents about Desford. Members are updated on society activities bi-monthly via letter. |

Current Projects
We are currently working on a book/booklet of 17th century Desford which arose through ongoing research. This is now complete and we are busy writing text and finding images for the book/booklet.
The group are also transcribing the parish registers from the 16th and 18th centuries. |
