Steve shows Dave the flower gardenCertainly until 1939 the gardeners did 5 weekday shifts and a half day on Saturdays, the wages were collected on a Saturday lunch time. Although wages were quite low estate worker often had the advantage of rent free accommodation and small perks, perhaps some veg from the garden. These draws stored the large quantity of seeds for the garden.
