Take a look at the Timeline and learn more about the history of the landscape. The LANDshapes Timeline isn’t just a static document – we will be adding to it on a regular basis, with pictures and links to other sites of interest as well as links to other ‘learning’ pages on the LANDshapes site. Got something to add – then let us know, we are looking for local examples of particular landscape features and help from you … the experts. Share your knowledge and experience of 'How to do it' with others by writing a page or two explaining the methods you have used to find out about the landscape and history that surrounds you. For instance you might want to write a short guide to successful field walking or explain how to identify buildings of different ages. Whatever your interest or area of expertise, as long as it’s about heritage or landscape then we want to hear from you!
Check out the LANDshapes Learning Treewise information sheets to learn more about the myths, legends, facts and figures of some of the trees you can see in The National Forest. Then practice your new knowledge by visiting the LANDshapes Tree Trail at Rosliston Forestry Centre.
LANDshapes Learning has the potential to become a valuable resource for anyone with an interest in the heritage and landscape of The National Forest. So don’t delay take a look today.
