LANDshapes' True Noon projects

With Schools throughout The National Forest

Image from South Charnwood High SchoolCome and see what some of the kids in The National Forest have been getting up to over the past few weeks! As a part of the True Noon project, kids from schools all over The Forest have been hard at work creating some fantastic pictures and having a lot of fun at the same time.
Image from South Charnwood High SchoolWe asked the kids to create pictures based on the landscape of one of the zones in The National Forest. They were asked to think about elements such as underlying geology, past and present land-use or the future landscape of their chosen zone.
Image from South Charnwood High SchoolTo come up with ideas for the project the kids involved have been very busy brainstorming, experimenting with texture, colour and style, and researching their local areas past and present, for information and inspiration. Some of the children have sent us entries from their project diaries which illustrate how much they enjoyed working on the True Noon project – even to the point of giving up a lunchtime or two to add a few more touches to their designs! The pictures show that all their hard work has paid off – well done to everyone who has taken part!
