After walking the field in the morning, the finds were washed and identified in the afternoon. They then drew the finds and wrote about the fieldwalk.

"On Thursday 16th February we went field walking to find pottery and new flint at Cattows Farm. I found one piece of pottery, Darcey found five pieces of pottery, Richard found two pieces of pottery. Jo found a piece of Roman pottery. When we were finished Steve told us how much pottery and flint. I think we had fifteen pieces of pottery and flint. Joyce gave us a polo mint".

There were two more events with the Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade. The first was on the 21st at Ibstock church hall. This was based on pottery and its use. The second was at Broome Leys Church on the 23rd. The first session was with the 7 to 10 year olds looking at archaeological finds. For the second session I asked Maureen Partridge, a Whitwick historian, to do a talk about studying local history. She also supplied a history pack with maps and documents for Whitwick.
